Introduction to Sadistic Shibari

Also called "Semenawa" in Japanese, and focusing on the feet. It is a very playful, fun technique that can even be categorized as joyful. So yes, we will cause a little bit of pain to those who want a little bit of pain, and for those who want more intense sensations, we will go a bit further. In parallel, discover your sadistic side by playing with your workshop friends.

We will work solely around the feet, based on harnesses and tightening techniques. Beyond sensations, we will also work on the notion of play and the relationship between the giver and the receiver, while creating a safe framework both mentally and physically.

Even though the technique is practiced with at least two people, you can come solo, with the possibility of finding play partners on site. Equipment provided: just come with your feet and hands. No nudity. Note-taking is allowed.

Regarding the facilitator:

Ms. Lazarus is a TDS and happy performer, with practices that engage the body. Her exploration of pain is done in joy, far from the dark dynamics in which an older imagination exists. To put it simply: we want color, we want to laugh, we want it to be light, while seeking strong and intense sensations.

In practice:

• The workshop is open to everyone.
• The workshop starts with an exercise to remind the rules and warm up to consent.
• No nudity.
• No sexual acts are allowed, this is a shibari workshop focused on feet. No penetration or oral sexual acts. Physical contact between participants is possible within the limits of each person's consent.
• Materials are provided but feel free to bring your own accessories!
• Interactions between participants are possible but not mandatory.
• Make sure to maintain impeccable hygiene.
• Participants can arrive between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. After 8:15 PM, no more entries will be allowed. The workshop ends around 10:30 PM.
• No exercise is mandatory. You are free to refuse any practice at any time. Your limits are a priority.
• You are free to leave the workshop at any time. A quiet space will be available for you to isolate yourself if needed.
• Beautiful Things is a 100% sober space. No drugs or alcohol are allowed. Please also arrive at the workshop sober.

Regarding the price:

You freely choose the price that seems fair and accessible to your personal situation.

• Social price: A reduced rate more accessible for people with more modest means.
• Normal price: This is the average rate applied to our activities.
• Support price: This is a higher rate intended to support the non-profit organization for its sustainability and to develop its offered activities.

Code of conduct

• No act or word of a racist, homophobic, transphobic, sizeist, ableist, classist, or any other discriminatory nature is tolerated.
• No interaction without explicit consent is tolerated.
• No violent, verbal and/or physical behavior is tolerated.
• This workshop is not intended for romantic and/or sexual encounters.
• States under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not tolerated.
• No photos, videos, or recordings are allowed during the workshop. Confidentiality is required before, during, and after the workshop.

Any violation of this code of conduct may result in immediate exclusion without a refund. The workshop organizers reserve the right to assess the situation at the moment and make decisions they deem necessary for everyone's integrity. If needed, a mediation procedure with the management of Beautiful Things is available after the event.

What you need to know
